Capital assets & debt

Capital items are the entries most often left to a year-end scramble. Assets and loans live here with their schedules, and posting depreciation or a loan payment is a button rather than a manual journal.

  1. 1

    Register assets and post depreciation

Cost, salvage, in-service date and useful life produce the schedule. Posting depreciation writes the journal entries rather than asking you to.

  2. 2

    Track loans and payments

Principal, rate, term and first payment produce the amortisation. Posting a payment splits principal, interest and escrow to the right accounts.
